What Hurts the Most analysis.

"What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts is a song about a girl who was lost her boyfriend and she really misses him and wishes he never left. When, "And having so much to say.  And watching you walk away," is said it shows that she had much to tell him, but she was unable too and she was forced to watch him walk away.  "I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart.  That I left unspoken," shows that she has a lot to say and the girl would trade it all away for a chance to say what she needs to.  The singer says,  "And not seeing that loving you.  Is what I was tryin' to do," and these lines say that the girl really loved the boy and she didn't know it.

Lyrics
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm ok
But that's not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin' to do

It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I'm doin' It
It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin' with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

Not seeing that loving you
That's what I was trying to do
Ooohhh....

American Soldier Analysis

The song American Soldier by Toby Keith explains a soldier's feelings and responsibilities to his family and his country. He wants to be a good husband and father, and to also meet the needs of everyone else. He explains that he is not a soldier for the money because he is still unable to pay all of his bills, and the glory is not a good reason because it is not always glorious. He is a soldier because he knows that he has to fight for the future of his family and his country.

There are negatives to being a soldier, such as not being able to call in sick, or having to work on holidays or all night long, but they do not come near the benefits. He is aware of the risks that are associated with being a soldier, and he claims that he does not want to die for his country, but if that is what happens then he will "bear that cross with honor'' because he understands it is a cost for the freedom we enjoy in our country. He will fight for freedom and liberty, and if that is jeopardized than he will take a stand because that is what is expected of him as an American soldier.

Problems in Speak

A young girl wanders down the school halls alone.  She tries to avoid the stares of hatred, the stares of annoyance, and the stares of betrayal.  All these stares, she doesn’t deserve them.  Although she knows what she did was right she is the only one who knows the true story.  No one knows, no one cares, and no one helps her through these drastic times for all she has to do, is speak.  Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is a intricate novel filled with twist and turns.  Speak shows that one of the best ways to manage your problems is to speak.

Throughout this riveting book Melinda, who is the main character, has many problems that she was not able to handle.  One of these being the problem that took on a downward spiral through life; the summer party.  This party which she though wouldn't affect anything, affected everything.  Credulous she was at first, but scared she was after.  At this average overcast party she went confused and blind.  Drunken, shaken, and beaten, she left the party and meandered   out into the woods.  Alerted by some in a close proximity she pivoted around to find a man standing behind her.  He said the words "Where did you come from?  You're to beautiful to hide in the dark.  Come dance with me."  She was happy yet confused by why this guy chose her out of all the others.  While she was blinded she was raped.  After words, she saw that this was terrible and called the police, but she couldn't say a word.  Meanwhile some kid saw her calling the police and alerted the others.  This is mainly what caused that difficult dilemma she is in.

While she was dumb-stricken by this event, she thought that what would be ephemeral, the toll took its pay on Melinda.  After down spiraling into nothing,  Melina manages to salvage some of what she had lost.  Like most raped victims, she keeps it a secret and haunts her.  Does this affect her? Will she ever recover from this incident?  This causes her and other people who get raped to be diffident.  The major lesson learned here is to take a stand for yourself and to speak out.

Strange Paragraph

How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing is wrong with it at all, and, in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it, you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Who knows? Go to work and try your skill. Par is about half an hour.

Does Partiotism Still matter

Patriotism is still essential in American tradition for it is those who respect their country who bring you your freedom. We must respect that as well as all things here in America. We must also respect our brethren who have gone to risk their lives knowing that they will make a difference. All Americans should come together for it is not those who sit at home doing nothing, but those who are working in some way for this grand country of ours. Patriotism is respect for your country. You may not like this country, but you can complain to make a difference because almost act for this country is patriotic in some way. For some those are just words, but for me and for all the others it is a way of life.

Hemmingway Character Review

Two men are sitting in a corner of a café talking and watching an old man drink at the counter. The café is a nice small place in a small town. It is clean and well lighted and it sits in the shadows of the leaves of the trees. These men sit and talk when the man asks for another drink. They know he has drunken too much. During this, the two men start talking again about each other this time. As they talk they find out that they are more different then they realize. Each lacks what the other has in "A Well Lighted Place" by Ernest Hemmingway. Each waiter has the same job, but everything else is different.

The older waiter is a very relaxed man who is patient and understands the world around him. He lives alone and cares about others more than himself since this is shown when the he doesn't mind staying in the café late and stays with the old man because he understands him. Seeing that has no one to go home to makes him very lonely and he doesn't mind staying because he has company. This state of loneliness really separates him from others because most people have friends and family to go home to or to see. When the older waiter goes home; he has no one.

While the older waiter is wiser and more experience with life the younger waiter thinks that money is happiness and that he is the most important man. In his mind believes that he shouldn't have his time wasted by sitting in the café watching the old man drink. By being who he is he wonders why the old man drinks and isn't happy because he has a lot of money. His "world" is that he is the center of everything and everything revolves around him. The fact that he believes that money is happiness and how everything is about him makes a selfish and stubborn man.

All and all the waiters are very different. They have almost everything in their life different. Does this affect their relationship? How is their view of life different? Everything they look at is different and have a different felling about many things thus making them look downward upon each other not understanding each other. One lesson we can take from "A clean Well lighted Place" is that you are never the center of everything and you shouldn't judge people for anything.
